A hat on a hat??

I want you to try my crochet patterns and please let me know how they turn out!

Supplies
Hook 5.5mm (US size I)
Hook 3.75mm (US size F) for nose
White yarn 7 oz.
Orange yarn 7 oz.
Black yarn 4 oz.
Green yarn 4 oz.
Felt or batting
Yarn Needle
Stitch markers

Guage
16 st=4” 8 rows=4” CHECK YOUR HOOK. Use any hook to obtain gauge.

Size
Adult size 22”

Ch=Chain
Sl=Slip stitch
Sc=Single Crochet
Dc=Double Crochet
Hdc=Half double crochet
FpHdc=Front post half double crochet
 
Beanie Directions
Rd 1: Magic loop or Ch 3 and join with Sl to form ring. Ch2, Dc in ring 11 times. Sl to join. (12 Dc)
Rd 2: Ch 2, 2 Dc in each Dc. Sl to join. (24 Dc)
Rd 3: Ch 2, *2 Dc in next Dc then 1 Dc in the next Dc * repeat  11 times.  Sl to join (36 Dc)
Rd 4: Ch 2, *2 Dc in the next Dc then 1 Dc in the next two Dc* repeat 12 times. Sl to join. (48 Dc)
Rd 5: Ch 2 *2 Dc in the next Dc then 1 Dc in the next 3 Dc* repeat 12 time. Sl to join. (60 Dc)
Rd 6: Ch 2, *2 Dc in the next Dc then 1 Dc in the next 5 Dc* repeat 10 times. Sl to join. (70 Dc)
Rd 7-15: Ch 2 *1 Dc in each Dc* repeat to end and sl to join. (70 Dc)
Fasten off
 
Accessory Directions
Top Hat (Black Yarn and Green yarn)
Using hook 5.5mm (US size I)
Rd 1: Magic loop or Ch 3 and join with Sl to form ring. Ch2, Dc in ring 11 times. Sl to join. (12 Dc)
Rd 2: Ch 2, 2 Dc in each Dc. Sl to join. (24 Dc)
Rd 3: Ch 2, *2 Dc in next Dc then 1 Dc in the next Dc * repeat  11 times.  Sl to join (36 Dc)
Rd 4 : Ch 2, 1 Hdc  in each Dc (36 Hdc)
Rd 5-8: Ch 2 *1 Dc in each Dc* repeat to end and sl to join. Fasten off. (36 Dc)
Rd 9: Join Green yarn to top of any Dc. Ch 2 *1 Dc in each Dc* repeat to end and sl to join. (36 Dc)
Rd 10: Ch1, *1 Sc in each Dc * repeat to end and sl to join. Fasten off. (36 Dc)
Rd 11: Join Black yarn to any Sc and Ch 2. *1 Fpdc in each Sc* repeat to end and sl to join. (36 Hdc)
Rd 12: Ch 2 *1 Dc in each Dc* repeat to end and sl to join. Fasten off. (36 Dc)
Stuff hat with felt or batting and sew on to beanie with yarn needle.
 

Carrot nose (Orange yarn)
Using hook 3.75mm (US size F)
Rd 1: Magic loop or Ch 3 and join with Sl. 6 Sc in loop and join with Sl. (6 Sc)
Rd 2: 2 Sc in each Sc. DO NOT JOIN WITH Sl.
Rd 3-6: 1 Sc in each Sc. Mark beginning with a stitch marker. Fasten off.
Stuff nose with felt or batting and sew on to beanie.
Use yarn needle to attach to beanie.

Eyes (Black Yarn and White yarn)
Using hook 5.5mm (US size I)
Rd 1: Magic loop or Ch 3 and join with Sl st. Ch 3 and then 11 Dc in loop. Fasten off.
Thread a piece of white yarn between two Dc to add eye sparkle.
Use yarn needle to attach eye to beanie.

Mouth (Black yarn)
With yarn needle sew mouth half-smile
